Basic Survival Kits
A
basic survival kit should contain enough provisions to sustain a person
for a minimum of 72 hours. Each kit should have long life emergency
food & water provisions, water purification tables or iodine, first
aid supplies, basic medications (such as asprins), emergency blankets,
gloves (medical and leather ), solar/windup radio, flashlight and toiletry
items.
Disaster can strike at any time. Whether it is a natural disaster,
human error, or a physical attack against your city you should consider
the tools you and your family will need to sustain yourselves until
professional help arrives. Safeguard your family and home with a well
prepared emergency kit. It is also a good idea to have a kit in each
of your vehicles, cottage, boat and office.
You should check your emegency preparedness planning at least once
every six months. If you plan ahead you and your loved ones should remain
safe and secure during an emergency. When lives are at stake, it's up
to you to be in control and take action. Imagine the plight of those
who don't take the time to prepare. You can store and use these packs
for the unexpected or use them for long outdoors excursions.
Be prepared- not scared.
